First 10 K Green Race
With great success it carried out the first edition of the Green Race 10 kilometers Unite States -México, organized by the North American Consulate in Monterrey with Pronatura's support. The goal of one thousand five hundred participants excelled itself with some corridors that, in spite of not reaching number because of the limited quota, formed a part of the great quota that crossed the facilities of the Fundidora Park, sedate of the race.
 
The absolute winner of the competition was Rubén Hernández with a time of 36 minutes 34 second. The female winner was the local athlete Estela Chávez Hernández with a 38 minutes a 45 seconds time record, very far away from her rivals. All the participants received medals carved in wood of mezquite as symbol of ecology. Adding, the winners of every category received trophies elaborated by craftsmen of Cuatro Ciénegas, Coahuila.
 
William Cobb, the logistics director of the competition, together with a great group of collaborators of the consulate mentioned that the following stage of the race will be the reforestation of the Saw of Santiago, which will begin next month.
" The plantation of the pines will be carried out in the last part of August and the first of September, where all the participants and public in general will be invited, both volunteers and participants. "
 
We have a very strong group to change our mentality with regard to the environment and to be able to assure the well-being to our children.
